African United Democratic Party (AUDP) has its origin lies in the 1982 Political Era, when South Africa and Swaziland came to a formal agreement regarding each other’s security interests. Swaziland would deport all African National Congress (ANC) members to South Africa. This did not prevent raids by the South African police in search of ANC operatives.

Many Swazis ,in particular, Students of the University of Swaziland, who were Liberals  fought very hard in support of the South African struggle against Apartheid Regime, included AUDP President Mr. Stanley Sdumo Malindzisa, and Secretary General Prince Sibusiso Busibheki Dlamini, Mr.Mfanasibile Nxumalo, Princess  Bibi Faith Dlamini, Prince Mxolisi Dlamini, Miss Nonhlanhla Nhlabatsi ,Mr.Sipho Simelane, MR.Manqoba Khumalo ,Prince Donald Dlamini, Princess Sibongile Dlamini, Prince Roland Dlamini, Prince Sibusiso .A .Dlamini and many others, decided to form African United Democratic Party (AUDP), so as to bring Liberalism in Swaziland, Africa and Internationally.

 The African United Democratic Party, declare itself  to the world and the people of Swaziland that we are a political organization formed by the people of Swaziland , to unite and mobilize the oppressed majority of the Swazi people against oppression, suppression, exploitation, corruption, poverty, diseases, landless, ignorance, starvation, jobless, unfair discrimination and dictatorship in every spheres of society.

AUDP is an Organization of the people committed to the creation of a free and democratic Society in particular Swaziland, and/or regional and international bodies. Our democratic commitment is founded on our firm belief that the pride of our sovereignty, freedom and unity, should be based on the respect of the will of the people.

We are committed to the restoration of a culture of respect for human values dignity, and the creation of a caring and prosperous society and the establishment of respect for; and acceptance of the legitimacy of all state structures; through the attainment and sustenance of an improving quality of the life of the people.

AUDP is, therefore, a democratic, none racial, none sexist political Organization, committed to the creation, protection and promotion of a Constitutional Multi Party Democracy, a transparent and accountable Government, an environment conducive for growth and development.

The organization, through this constitution and the Manifesto, commits itself to stand by the people in the struggle to return this, our beloved country Swaziland to democratic governance which shall guarantee, ensure and protect maximum participation with all civic rights protected as per the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, All Africa Charter on Human and People’s Rights, and all conventions, treaties, protocols, international agreements or arrangements of United Naitons, African Union, Commonwealth, Southern African Development Community (SADC) and other International agreements.

On the 27^th -30^th  November,2014, in Morocco –Marrakech, the party joined Africa Liberal Network (ALN), and became one of the 44 ALN member parties.
